The ELGAS project aims to improve crew health by continuously monitoring and evaluating exposure to environmental pollutants in accommodations , communicating with a self-designed risk index, and proposing concrete remedial actions.
The focus is on monitoring chemical agents, potentially present on (inland) ships and with known health risks such as particulate matter or ozone. With this information, the project aims to improve crew health, raise awareness among stakeholders, optimize existing services, identify new target groups for existing services, and make the transport sector more resilient to increased sustainability requirements in the transport sector.
